Enter your business distance and get the deduction or allowance at the official 2026 rates. The US tab applies the IRS’s mid-year change: 72.5¢ a mile for miles driven January 1 – June 30, 2026 and 76¢ from July 1. Tabs for the UK, Canada and Australia apply each authority’s own bands and caps.

This is an estimate, not tax advice. It multiplies the distance you enter by the published rate. It cannot tell you whether a mile was a business mile or a commute, and that classification, backed by a dated log, is what an examiner asks about. It does not include parking or tolls, which are claimed on top.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my 2026 mileage deduction?

Multiply business miles driven January 1 through June 30, 2026 by 72.5 cents, multiply miles driven from July 1 by 76 cents, and add the two. A single annual total times one rate is wrong in 2026.

Is this calculator accurate enough to file with?

It applies the published rates exactly, but it is an estimate: it cannot check that the miles you enter were business miles, and the IRS expects a dated log behind the number.

Does it work outside the US?

Yes. The UK tab applies HMRC 55p then 25p after 10,000 miles, the Canada tab the CRA 73 and 67 cents per km allowance, and the Australia tab the ATO 91 cents per km capped at 5,000 km.
